Hashem is Good!
Hashem is Good. Always. We don’t always see the good. After all, our understanding is so limited. We would never expect a toddler to understand the profound teachings of a brilliant scientist. Yet the difference between a toddler and the scientist is nothing but limited time and capabilities. The difference between us and our creator is limitless. We are mere creations; He is our Creator. Every ounce of goodness that we experience as good is nothing but Hashem’s kindness -- a miracle to be grateful for. Stuck in a dark moment? Zoom out the lens of your mind’s eye. Notice the sprinklings of Hashem’s goodness everywhere. Recall moments of joy. Invite memories of miracles into your heart.
Repeat!
Thank Hashem for the good. And watch the good become even better.
Let your heart truly feel secure in Hashem’s goodness. In this z’chus, Hashem will show you the goodness!
It happens in some instances that this [belief in Hashem] remains limited to a person’s faith and understanding, and unfortunately, it does not reach the feelings in his heart. For this person, [for whom his faith is intellectual and not emotional] particular events are a reason for brokenness and sadness, chas v'sholom. And since he demonstrates this attitude, while his true intentional belief that all is for the good remains hidden in his mind, it could happen that the true [positive] intent — the ultimate good — of the event that had such a negative impact on him remains hidden from the person’s eyes and it will not shine forth. If, however, a person works on himself to change the way he feels in his heart to the point that he doesn’t experience the event in any way other than “everything that the Merciful One does is for the good,”good in an open and revealed way -- when a person feels this in his heart, that person will also see the good in a revealed manner. Hashem will reward him “measure for measure.” The [outcome will be of] the same nature as the person’s avoda. Hashem will reveal to everyone, particularly for the person himself, the good that is hidden in that event to the extent that it will be seen with one’s physical eyes. It is definitely difficult for a person to bring himself to such a place. [..]. I wish you that very soon Hashem will show you — together with your husband and your son — the ultimate good contained in the various events in your life that you have not been able to appreciate until now. May you all be happy together, both materially and spiritually.

Is there a doubt about Hashem’s Goodness?!
B”H, 1 Elul, 5714
I was distressed to hear that your health isn’t as it should be, and more essentially, that your spirits are down. It is surprising that you, and in general any individual in our generation, who Hashem guarded and you survived and were rescued from the fires [of the Holocaust,] that after you saw hashgocha protis with your own eyes, you still have doubts. (Even though this doubt is not chas v’shalom negatively affecting your general emunah in Hashem, it is affecting how you feel in your heart.) And this is the very same Hashem Yisboreych, Who is the essence and epitome of good, [the One about Whom we say that] the nature of good, is to do good -- He is organizing your life, in all its details and the details of every detail. If only you would absorb this faith and this understanding on an emotional level, certainly you would be happy with what you have, and this would cause your health to be as it should be; this would add strength to your fulfillment of your mission in this world. Even though everything needs to be done in a way that it could be contained within nature, as it says, “In all that you will do,” … and therefore you need to make sure to follow the doctors’ recommendations, this needs to be without a heavy heart. And if you will follow my advice, take vacation for a week or two to calm yourself down, through resting and peacefulness - this will strengthen your health. After this break - and with a complete resolution to serve Hashem with simcha, joy - you will be able to continue your affairs and your business in good health and with success.

Hashem is with you - do not be afraid!
B”H, 1st day of Rosh Chodesh Adar, 5712
Blessings and Greetings!
I received the pidyon nefesh written on your behalf by the esteemed R. Yehudah Zvi Fogelman, who mentions that you suffer from a certain anxiety. In these lines I would like to stress once more that every Jew, both woman and man, should be strong in his trust in Hashem. Just as every Jew believes with perfect faith that HaKodosh Boruch Hu is the Master of the universe, so too is He the master over the life of every individual Jew, both man or woman. And since it is certain that He is good, it is also certain that He will lead things towards goodness. When we find ourselves in Hashem’s care, with His hashgocha protis, there is nothing to be afraid of. As David HaMelech says in Tehillim, “I will fear no evil, for You are with me.” And the [fact that] “You are with me” applies to every Jew. I hope that Hashem will also clearly show you an improvement in your situation, and that you will be able to relate good news.

Trust that you will see the good.
After a pause that was too long, I was pleased to receive your letter… you wrote it with a much more peaceful heart than your previous letter. And may it be Hashem’s will, that you will learn from this also for the future. If it ever seems to you that there is something in your life that is not as you want it to be, trust in the Creator of the world, Who carefully watches over each and every person with hashgocha protis, to fulfill the well-known saying of Chazal, “All that the Merciful One does, He does for the good.” And in the end, it will be good that is clearly seen and revealed.
